Commissioned by Worksafe BC for the new Vancouver Convention Centre, Line of Work transforms everyday building materials into a powerful, yet protecting wave-form that reaches out towards the sea. The piece juxtaposes notions of ascension, aspiration and progress with those of shelter, security and protection.

Composed of stainless steel and laminated Alaskan Cedar that has been carved with individual occupations, the piece reflects the growing diversity of worker’s specific skills over time.

Individual actions create ripples. Working together creates a wave.
