Blooming Bridge captures the ethereal dynamism of nature at the scale of large manmade infrastructure. Manifesting as two graceful leaf forms that fold over one another, Blooming Bridge is composed of arching steel ribs, a translucent metal scrim and LED lighting elements. At night, inspired by the seasonal colour change of the local trillium flower, the bridge blooms, transforming from a delicate translucent white to vibrant green and violet, emitting an ephemeral glow visible to motorists below.
